What we have done

• Everything works with a keyboard, including the services menu and every demo, with a visible focus ring that is not the browser default hidden away.
• The services menu opens on hover with a mouse and on click or Enter otherwise, and closes with Escape.
• Headings run in order, so a screen reader can skim the page as an outline.
• Every illustration is a canvas with a real text label, and the decorative background is hidden from assistive technology entirely.
• The panel that changes when you pick a symptom announces itself, so you are not left wondering whether anything happened.
• Text contrast meets AA against the backgrounds it sits on.
• Reduced motion is respected everywhere. If your system asks for less movement, the animations do not run, the illustrations draw straight to their finished state, and the game waits for you rather than starting itself.
• Text reflows down to a phone with no sideways scrolling, and you can zoom without anything being cut off.

Where it falls short

Being honest rather than claiming a clean sheet.

• The one button game on the games page needs a click or the space bar. It is decorative, nothing depends on it, and no information is only available there, but it is not playable by every input device.
• The illustrations are drawn on canvas, so they do not scale with a browser text size setting the way real text does. Their labels do.
• We have tested with a keyboard, with VoiceOver and with reduced motion on. We have not put this site through a full professional audit.

Standard

We aim at WCAG 2.2 level AA. We believe this site substantially meets it, with the exceptions listed above.
